Cordless is an early-stage startup with a mission to improve customer support over the phone! We believe no one should be waiting on hold listening to terrible elevator music. We build tools for companies to bring together voice and text to create magical experiences for customers on a smartphone.

We are backed by Passion Capital, Entrepreneur First and angel investors from GoCardless, Monzo, Nested, Songkick, Onfido, FreeAgent and Assembled. We've just raised a Seed round and have a couple of paying customers.

We are currently a team of five and growing!

The founders - Luba Chudnovets (Linkedin) and Irina Bednova (Linkedin, Twitter) - met building Monzo bank, where we scaled an award-winning operations team to support over 3 million customers.

About the role

This is our first business / commercial hire so you will get to work closely with the founders on the priority projects for the company. It's a hands-on role with an immediate focus on helping us build out our business development initiatives.

More specifically, you will help us research companies and market sectors, design intelligent outbound campaigns, initiate new customer relationships, experiment with our product messaging and help us generate marketing content.

You will be involved in customer conversations and help us structure product feedback and user research to make sure we're always working on the highest priority thing.

As the company develops you will have a chance to shape what you focus on and how we grow the commercial team at Cordless. As one of our first employees, you will have an opportunity to grow into a leadership position.

What we expect from you

  • Entrepreneurial, determined and goal-driven, ideally with couple of years of startup experience
  • Ideally you have 1+ years of working in a Growth role and can help us build a highly effective and scaleable process of lead generation
  • You should be able to figure things out from first principles - whether it's building a scaleable sales process or defining our marketing approach, we'd love you to help us think things through!
  • You should be willing to take on the grunt work too, for example taking responsibility for sourcing, organising and developing relevant business leads
  • You are highly articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You can and want to give and receive constructive feedback
  • We're an early stage company, so you will enjoy this role if you are comfortable with ambiguity and autonomy
